Tesla
2020 was a big year for alternative energy and transportation. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed one of the most aggressive environmental policies since the 1960s banning the sale of new gas vehicles by 2035. The news arrived as Tesla announced its lowest-priced model at $25,000. As for air travel, the first fully hydrogen-powered plane took off.
I collaged this illustration in response to how California's intervention could be the catalyst for widespread environmental reform. Or would the policy simply be an outlier? It depicts a derelict gas station in the foreground, replaced by futuristic Tesla charging station in the background.
