In December 2020, 120,000 jobs were lost, but that number didn't tell the real story. Actually, women lost 140,000 jobs while men GAINED 20,000 jobs.
The media covered this at length, quick to point out that the pandemic disproportionately impacted industries typically dominated by women. What was more troubling was that 25% of working women are considering leaving the workforce altogether.
