After the 2020 election, 15 states legalized marijuana. How did we go from full prohibition to normalization within two decades? The movement started with CBD. In 2010 when almost 52% of Americans disagreed with the legalization of marijuana, the story of Charlotte Figi, a five-year-old with chronic epilepsy that virtually disappeared after her introduction to CBD oil, went viral. Normalization of CBD spread throughout the rest of the decade. After Americans began to listen to academics who spoke about the correlation between marijuana's criminal status and racism, hard conversations around marijuana went mainstream.

My vector illustration was built to address the issue of advertising products that are still federally illegal but slowly gaining legality at the state level and the huge amounts of money to be made from ever-growing pot sales.
