Just a few months after starting it, Netflix laid off multiple employees intended to boost the platform’s footprint. As many companies used the pandemic as an excuse to lay off employees, Netflix used it as cover to boost profits. At the same time they were firing thousands of new hires, they also announced price hikes. This pictorial showed the greed of Netflix as the clear villain of the streaming wars.
