The New York Times unveiled America's unofficial CDC Director: Walmart. The major retailer, among others like Starbucks, took a stance on COVID by making face masks mandatory in-store.
For companies like Amazon and Walmart already serving health benefits to millions of employees and offering clinics to customers in-store, it was part of a larger trend of retail companies moving into the healthcare space and helping legitimize the companies' efforts.
This textural photo collage showed the logical next step as more mega conglomerates get into other industries, resulting in what will hopefully be seen for what they are: monopolies, and be broken up accordingly.
